Job Description

– Participate in designing and coordination of veterinary services innovation and technology transfer activities
– Working with key government, non-governmental and private entities, in activities related with veterinary services innovation and technology transfer;
– In close collaboration with surveillance team and laboratory sub-program, develop and maintain consistent and regular animal disease surveillance system for outbreak early detection;
– Ensure the preparedness of regional endemic diseases and pre-occurred outbreaks;
– Prepare monitoring and evaluation reports, organize and conduct meetings; prepare and edit reports, manuals, guidelines and other specialized publications;
– Provide advice and guidance regarding livestock production and protection;
– Plan, organize, direct and coordinate the activities of subordinates in regulatory veterinary work at district level;
– Providing profession technical and managerial expertise to promote the effective and prudent use of antibiotics;
– Evaluate the impact of drug residues and the exposure to antimicrobioresistance;
– Promote the use of acaricids for tick borne diseases prevention;
– Make awareness on efficient and prudent of acaricids for preventing ticks resistance;
– Identifies the need for, develops and implements Animal Health and Regulation policies and procedures;
– Responsible for animal movement assessment and providing permits for importing, transit and exporting;
– Responsible of awareness of animal welfare law and enforcement of related laws;
– Propose measures for Preventing zoonotic diseases to the public health and participating in one health required activities;
– Active participation in animal health related research;




Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Sciences

    10 Years of relevant experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Biotechnology

    10 Years of relevant experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Studies

    10 Years of relevant experience

  • Having led or contributed to the production and dissemination of eight (8) extension materials including technical guidelines, documentary films, and other extension materials for innovations aiming to increase farmer’s production, productivity and resilience capacities

  • Having contributed to the generation of at least three (3) innovations or technology for animal resources development

  • Proven experience to work with farmers in research and extension

  • Capacity in project development and resource Mobilization
