Office Cleaner – Rwanda Schools and Systems Activity

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of an Office Cleaner for the Schools and Systems (S&S) USAID-funded project office in Rwanda.
Project Description
The Rwanda Schools and Systems Activity will strengthen the education system to enable all pre-primary and lower primary school and classroom environments to be of high quality, inclusive, and focused on learning of foundational reading skills. Specifically, five-year activity will improve learning outcomes by focusing on increasing Kinyarwanda literacy skills of boys and girls through primary 3 (P3) through four intermediate results: (1) Pre-primary education system enhanced to develop, promote and improve emergent literacy, (2) Lower primary reading classroom instruction improved, (3) School environments improved for increased lower primary reading outcomes, and (4) Education systems management strengthened for improve literacy outcomes. The Schools and Systems Activity will include a focus on learning for children with disabilities to ensure project approaches reach all children.
Position Description
Under the general supervision of the Operations Assistant and immediate supervision of the Office Assistant, the Office Cleaner will perform all office cleaning related work to improve the office and equipment hygiene. Duties to be performed will include office kitchen and the related supplies; She/He will also be providing extra help by assisting as needed with tasks of tea preparation for staff.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain all workspace clean and tidy through sweeping and mopping.
- Make sure that the washrooms that are exclusively used by FHI360 staff are clean.
- Clean fittings like office windows, glass partitions, mirrors etc.
- Avail self to provide office maintenance solutions on short notice.
- Ensure the office kitchen and its assets/ appliance are maintained clean and tidy.
- Handle office trash/waste according to established rules in the office building.
- Assist in setting up and arranging, tables, chairs, etc. to prepare meetings.
- Coordinate with supervisors to ensure cleaning/hygiene maintenance supplies are replenished in a timely manner to avoid shortages of cleaning supplies.
- Ensure kitchen assets are used responsibly and are well maintained are functional at all times for office use.
- Assist with other office logistical tasks such as loading and offloading office materials from vehicles.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Having completed secondary education (O-level, however A-level is preferred).
- At least two years executing cleaning/office maintenance functions in an established company or organization.
- Communications skills in English and Kinyarwanda (Note: interview will be conducted in English)
