AEE is a Christian, local, Non-Governmental organization dedicated to working with children, youths, families, and their communities to address the root causes of poverty. AEE has successfully implemented economic development projects in the agricultural and SME sectors in Rwanda. The programs have resulted in partnership with Inclusive Trading Group BV a smart capital investor  from the Netherlands. The offspring of this partnership has resulted in the establishment of two companies Spices Rwanda Ltd and Equip Rwanda ltd. In both companies we are recruiting staff to facilitate further growth.

Spices Rwanda Ltd: Agri-business manager

Spices Rwanda Ltd is an export company that started its operations in Rwanda in 2017 with the production and export of bird eye chillies (BEC) to Europe. Several smallholder cooperatives and NGO’s work in cooperation with the company to ensure a high-quality product. With that regard the company is in the process of obtaining a HACCP certification. Farmers are trained in cultivating BEC’s while the company ensures a stable market access. The company therefor works close to several business partners oversees.




Agri-business manager

The agri-business manager works at the centre of the company. He/she is active in monitoring the production, HACCP system, and logistics of the company. He/she is active in the selection and coaching of farmers cooperatives and to equip them with knowledge on how to cultivate BEC’s as well post-harvest handling. He/she will monitor the production maintain the HACCP quality procedures and systems and ensure proper forecasts to the clients in Europe for premium grade BEC. Next to that He/she is very hands on in buying the produce from the farmers and preparing the shipments to Europe. He/she is involved in maintaining good working relations with several governmental bodies.

Responsibilities

  • Select, coach, and monitor smallholder farmer/s (cooperatives) in the production, and post- harvest handling of Birds Eye chillies;
  • Pro-active resolve challenges at farm level to ensure proper and stable production;
  • Ensure proper implementation and maintaining the HACCP system within the company;
  • Organise logistics from farm up the store and the export of the produce to Europe;
  • Pro-active look for local sales and market relations for second and third grades;
  • Maintain good working relations with several governmental bodies and other stakeholders;
  • Pro-active work with the Dutch team to align production with sales;
  • Bi-weekly updates to investors of the progress/operations of the firm.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in agronomics and agri-business;
  • Proven experience in implementing and or maintaining HACCP systems;
  • Five years related experience in production monitoring & working with cooperatives;
  • Proven capability of coaching and monitoring smallholder farmer organisations;
  • Driving license A & B as well as excellent safe driving skills;
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations of government of Rwanda;
  • Proactive enthusiastic attitude, capable of working independently, result driven;
  • Hands on mentality hard working attitude;
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively;
  • Excellent Communication, Organizational, and Interpersonal Skills;
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Fluent in Kinyarwanda and English.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience in MS Office packages;
