WEB DEVELOPERS (2) – ROLE DESCRIPTION
Working Schedule: Monday – Friday (08:00 AM to 17:00HRS) – 45 hours a week.
Duration: Six (6) months.
Duty Station: Kigali, RWANDA
Reporting to: Projects Coordinator
We are looking for a Web Developer to be responsible for the innovative designs, coding, and implementation of web-based e-learning solutions. Overall responsibilities include implementing the customer vision into a reality by completing analysis, designs, and developer tests on the final e-learning solution. Strive to create visually appealing solutions with user-friendly design and clear navigation.
Responsibilities
- Participate in customer interactions to collect and analyze customer requirements and expectations.
- Create/implement polished web layouts and user interfaces by using advanced HTML/CSS practices.
- Integrate data from various back-end services and databases
- Produce and maintain software documentation including system designs, manuals, and testing reports
- Responsible for maintaining, expanding, and scaling the customer e-learning portal
- Stay plugged into emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them into operations and activities
Requirements
- Proven experience or competency in web programming and web applications development with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, and API’s.
- Familiar with mobile apps development technologies.
- Familiarity with MVC architecture and knowledge of at least one of PHP Frameworks
- A solid understanding of how web applications work including security, session management, and best development practices
- Should be knowledgeable on collaboration tools such as Slack, Github, or Jira.
- Candidate must have a strong understanding of web UI, cross-browser compatibility, general web functions, and standards
- Adequate knowledge of relational database systems
- Basic knowledge of the Search Engine Optimization process
- Should possess creative problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational skills to juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines.
- Ability to learn quickly and thrive in a fast-paced environment and master diverse web technologies and techniques.
- BS in Computer Science or a related degree program.
- Knowledge of open-source E-learning platforms will be an added advantage.
