Tittle: Road Engineer
Description and Profiles
1. Responsibilities
The selected Engineer will be expected to perform the following key responsibilities but not limited to:
- Conduct site visits, surveys, and assessments to gather relevant data for road projects supervision, planning and design.
- Prepare detailed engineering designs, including road alignments, cross-sections, and drainage systems.
- Develop technical specifications, tender documents, and cost estimates for road construction projects.
- Supervise road construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and departments to ensure integrated project delivery.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and project teams.
- Liaise and coordinate with government authorities, contractors, and community representatives to address project-related concerns and ensure effective communication
2. Qualifications and experiences
The candidate should possess the following qualifications and requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of general experience in civil or related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in road engineering, including project planning, design, and construction supervision.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering software and tools, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and road design software.
- Sound knowledge of road construction materials, techniques, and industry standards.
- Familiarity with applicable codes, regulations, and safety practices related to road infrastructure.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical abilities

V. General note to all applicants
Only applicants of not more than 35 years old shall be considered
Having a Master’s degree to the above said qualifications is an added advantage
Ability to fluently communicate (writing and verbal) in English and Kinyarwanda is compulsory. Knowledge of French language is an advantage.
If applicable valid practicing license shall be part of application documents
Possess driving license at least class B is an advantage
