Job Description

– Reporting to Laboratory Services Manager
– Ensure sample reception, registration, division and preparation;
– Conduct purity test and moisture content
– Conduct germination test (planting and seedling evaluation) and ensure the quality of substrate and related laboratory conditions
– Ensure seed health testing and pathogenic diagnosis as needed;
– Ensure that tests are carried out in accordance with protocols and that quality is maintained through the laboratory quality management system. Ensure proper record keeping and the control of information pertaining to seed quality testing;
– Ensure that samples are processed and reported in a timely manner. Prioritize samples and tests according to customer needs and resource constraints;
– Patriciate in the elaboration of test analysis reports and result certificates;
– Conduct regular monitoring of pest/ diseases infestation in both commercial and EGS seed fields;
– Participate in the activities for the testing and analysis for diseases and pathogenic diagnosis and profiling;
– Ensure timely planning, requisition and procurement of Lab materials/ consumables and equipment, while calibration and maintenance
– Contribute to maintaining a safe work environment, for personnel, customers, equipment and facilities;
– Ensure the implementation of activities, projects and assets management that promote seed quality services delivery and that public finances and goods are well managed;
– Perform any other duty assigned by your supervisor
