Job Description
– Report to the National Animal Genetic Improvement Centre Division Manager;
– Plan, organize and implement animal artificial insemination activities;
– Supervise and monitor the work of district extension staff, providing guidance, motivation and evaluation of performance
– Conduct the identification and registration of animal in Rwanda
– Quarterly report of animal genetic improved in Rwanda
– Keep abreast of current recommendations and findings related to animal breeding by maintaining continuous contact with animal researchers
– Make regular and systematic visits to districts to understand the animal breeding and reproduction problems
– Provide feedback to the research system about animal breeding and reproduction problems which need solutions
– Train and backstop extension agents on the latest animal breeding and reproduction technologies and help them solve field problems
– Coordinate the district extension agents training with inter and intra departmental agencies and other ministries
– Training students and interns on animal assisted reproduction technologies practices.
– Any other job related duties assigned by competent authorities
