JOB SUMMARY
YLabs is seeking a Research Coordinator to support the monitoring, evaluation and research of its projects. YLabs collects a wide range of data through mixed-methods approaches, including digital data collection, and seeks to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced Research Coordinator. This role is to be based in Kigali, Rwanda, and will report directly to the Research Lead.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
With the Research Manager and Research Lead, support the planning, implementation, and maintenance of data collection systems such as recordkeeping systems, quality control processes and additional
Coordinate the planning, collection of research data including the recruitment and coordination of research subjects, as
Assist in project work planning helping to ensure that the pre-established scope of work, study protocol, and regulatory requirements are
Support the recruitment, supervision, and coordination of a team of research assistants helping to ensure their work is of high
Prepare periodic and ad hoc research reports, as required by
Support the development of appropriate monitoring tools for tracking of regular project
Ensure the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of research and data collection
Organize field work to monitor data collection and ensure that the data collected is of a high quality and accurately reflects the responses This includes working with implementing partners to screen potential study participants for inclusion/exclusion criteria and documenting participant data at each level of study level.
Ensure compliance of project
Assist in any other tasks related to the delivery of the project at
YOU HAVE:
3-5 years of monitoring, evaluation, and research, preferably with NGOs or INGOs in the fields of public health or international
Bachelors’ degree in Project Management, Administration, Computer Science, Information Management, Economics, public health and/or any other relevant academic
Prior experience conducting field research, including conducting surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions is highly
Familiarity with quantitative and qualitative data analysis tools like SPSS, STATA, ti, etc, would be a plus.
Familiarity with data collection tools like Qualtrics is
Prior experience with monitoring and evaluation of digital interventions is
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to track and record projects progress through to completion
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, in both English and Kinyarwanda
Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
Strong attention to detail
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills in a rapidly moving environment

BENEFITS:
YLabs adheres to Project Fair’s principles and standards to establish equity in pay with the overriding principle of “equal pay for work of equal value” outlined in the Sustainable Development Goals. All salary ranges are based on level within the organization and are competitive to regional and national salary benchmarks, based on the respective office location.
The salary range for this position is gross RF11,750,000 – RF13,875,000 per year, commensurate with experience.

JOB SUMMARY
YLabs is seeking a junior-level or mid-level Communication Designer who is passionate about using communication design to make a difference, working on multiple projects across the globe and growing the internal design capacity at YLabs. You’ll be working at the cutting edge of design for social impact with a team that combines expertise in health, data and design. You’ll be part of our design team in Kigali, Rwanda, working hand-in-hand with our project teams to design visually compelling and technically clear outputs for globally dispersed projects. You’ll also work with the larger design team to develop our organizational branding and communications tools.
This is a full-time position which requires the ability to legally work in Kigali, Rwanda. Due to the pandemic, a majority of our Rwanda-based staff live and work remotely in Kigali. There is no requirement for this role to be based out of Kigali during the pandemic although if you choose to work remotely, it will be necessary to travel to the Kigali office at times.

PAY RATE
The pay range for this position is RF 15,000,000 – RF19,875,000 per year, commensurate with experience.

2+ years of experience in graphic design or communication design
Strong graphic design skills particularly in layout, presentations, branding and visualization of systems and complex information and structures
Strong knowledge of design platforms like Adobe Creative Suite, design techniques, software, data visualization
Experience in creating and/or managing brands
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with colleagues, clients, and beneficiaries
DESIRABLE:
Expertise in human-centered design / design thinking
Experience in print, digital, UX/UI design, data visualization
Experience in and enthusiasm for managing interns or junior designers
Experience in illustration and drawing concepts
Previous experience working on health, education or employment programs
